You may be wondering, "Why do I need a latch guard if I already have locks on the door?" Well, they help protect your latches from the burglars' prying tools such as crowbars. Latch guards are commonly used on commercial properties and multi-unit buildings. When a latch guard is installed over your existing latch, it forces the burglar to pry further away from the latch, often thwarting break-in attempts. Latch guards are installed on either inward-swinging or outward-swinging doors.
Standard Latch Guards
Latch guards are metal plates that protect the weakest points of the door, the space between the door frame and the door itself.
Full Length Latch Guards
Custom latch guards can significantly increase the security of a door. A full length latch guard covers the entire latch side from top to bottom. Additional add on options like a wrap-around-plate can also further enhance your security needs.
