"How to Measure it" Page

How to measure for a surface mounted security door.

1. Measure the width of the existing wood door.

   This is the actual width of the door you will order.

2. Measure the height of the existing wood door.

   This is the actual height of the door you will order.

3. Measure the flat molding on either side of and above the door.

   This is what the surface mounted door frame will be mounted to.

   You will want to have at least 1.25" width of flat molding.

   If you do not have this you may have to shim your molding to achieve this flat surface.
